While we move through summer 2021, there is still a level of uncertainty concerning what Rotary can continue to facilitate those human connections Rotary members valued in the past. It is a fact that the motto "hands meet face to face" is going to be a key part of the routine It's evident that there is a growing optimism and the need to be face-to-face with people. But Rotary has changed. It is not without a degree of uncertainty that will continue to grow as we progress through summer 2021. It is yet to be determined if the personal connections Rotary members cherished previously will be maintained. Even though the "hands facing space" idea is likely to become a daily routines in the club it is clear that there is a feeling of trust is growing and more members make face-to-face connections. Rotary is also changing. Rotary network helps to create long-lasting friendships. In addition to our meetings that are online to conduct business and social interactions, we've brought back the concept of the social aspect and services with a more secure face-to-face format. We've taken these new opportunities and combined them with our practices to create a bright new future for Rotary! It was encouraging to learn that 75% of Rotary clubs are planning to carry on their "business like usual" activities. This is the reason I was so elated to be given the opportunity to become a member of Rotary when I joined in the year 2002.
